While Indian Premier League chairman Lalit Modi declared on Tuesday that no cricketer had tested positive for any banned drugs in the second edition of the T20 League held in South Africa in April-May. Modi’s reaction came in the wake of reports from South Africa that the country’s fast bowler Dale Steyn failed a drug test as a result of taking painkillers to recover from an injury during the IPL.Modi, reacting to this development, told reporters that he knew of this development from news wires just before addressing a press conference at the conclusion of IPL’s Governing Council meeting on Tuesday.
